Conversations with Flowers
I create representational oil paintings of garden flowers and the insects and pollinators that visit them. Each painting begins in the garden through quiet observation, following flowers as they move through their natural life cycle. The conversation continues in the studio, where compositions are built one stem at a time, painted directly from life and allowing each narrative to emerge gradually. Learn more about my process →
Alongside my floral work, I've spent more than twenty years studying animal skulls and bones from life. These drawings and paintings look beyond documentation, contemplating the stories held within each specimen—a slow, quiet conversation between artist and subject.
