Renew — Original Floral Still Life in Oil & Graphite on Birch Panel

$850.00

Fine Art Original in Oil & Graphite | One of a Kind

Renew captures a brief and electric moment when quiet observation became something luminous and alive. Two ivory tulips were being arranged in my studio as reference for a study when a sudden wash of midday sun struck them, and the blooms burst open—wide, radiant, and unapologetically themselves.

Their open centers reveal the rarely painted yellow-green interior base of the petals, along with the tulips’ pistil and stamens, giving them an unexpected, almost tropical presence. It’s a portrait of emergence, resilience, and reaching—flowers responding to the light on their own terms, mirrors of the joy we rediscover when we allow ourselves to open again too.

The insects—two bees in flight and an ant climbing the stem—are drawn in graphite, a signature of my practice that reflects time spent watching, sketching, and honoring the quieter rhythms of nature. Shadows sweep across the stems and leaves as the flowers stretch toward the sun, reinforcing the painting’s central theme: renewal is not a slow process—it can happen all at once, in a single, stunning breath of light.

Painted from life on birch panel and framed in a minimal black floater frame, the exposed edges preserve the raw honesty of the object itself—structured, intentional, and unfiltered.
