Seven remarkable women painters are set to launch our exhibition season with a bold new show that captures the raw depth of emotion and the fierce intensity of their craft. This is a collection of work that speaks to the power of passion, perseverance, and the transformative force of art.
I’ll be exhibiting 3 paintings exploring the theme through ephemeral flowers:
“Each spring, flowers emerge from the debris, painting the drab, gray landscape of late winter with a hopeful display of color. Ephemeral Flowers. Varieties filled with memories, handed down from one generation to the next. Memories that ebb and flow, much like the tides, rising like the moon as their distinct and perfumed scents fill the air. “
“Neomenia is Latin for “New Moon”. The new moon creates a unique alignment of the Earth, Moon, and Sun, resulting in a phenomenon called spring tides, where the gravitational forces amplify high and low tides. This extreme tidal shift, with its powerful pull, mirrors the intensity of human emotions and profound transformation. Just as the ocean rises and falls with the moon's invisible hand, artists channel the unseen forces of the subconscious, pulling raw, hidden emotions to the surface. The new moon, with its quiet darkness, becomes a symbol of creation's potential, where the ebb and flow of nature’s rhythms inspire a deeper artistic vision rooted in contrast and rebirth.”
